In this Hunter Truck customer feature, we interviewed long-time customer Andy Kushner, owner of Andy Kushner Trucking LLC.
Customers are a crucial part of our business and the backbone of the trucking industry, they impact local and national communities, serve a wide range of vocations, and they keep our world moving. The goal of our customer features is to showcase our customers, highlight the work they do within their community, and tell a bit of their story.
Customer loyalty is a vital part of any successful business, and over the past 50 years Andy Kushner has done just that; remain loyal to his own customers, and to Hunter Truck.
What began as a passion in 1972 turned into a life-long career. Andy has been his own boss since he started his company straight out of high school. Andy Kushner Trucking LLC specializes in transporting equipment and a variety of other heavy haul needs for his wide customer base. With decades of experience in business, a core part of his mission is assuring his customers that he will deliver their equipment to the right place at the right time.
His key to success over the past 50 years has been providing excellent customer service and exceptional reliability for his customers.
“You have to be loyal to your customers and they’ll do the same,” says owner Andy Kushner. “I have the same customers that I’ve had for the last 40 years. They have trust in me to get the job done.”
Andy’s business is more than just a job or career to him; it is something he has been passionate about for over 50 years. He takes pride in the reciprocated loyalty between him and his customers, and this carries over to his relationship with Hunter Truck.
Andy has been purchasing trucks from Hunter Truck for the last 40 years. He’s even done a few deals with one of Hunter Truck’s now retired family owners, Harry Hunter.
“I’ve been loyal to Hunter (Truck) since the mid 1980’s. I’ve bought trucks off Harry, he’s part of the reason I still buy trucks here, he is a great, honest guy,” said Kushner about purchasing trucks.
Andy takes an immense amount of pride in designing his trucks and it shows in the finished product. His latest build was a 2024 Peterbilt Model 389 78-inch Ultra cab, complete with a Cummins X15 engine, Eaton Fuller 18-speed transmission, medium silver Seminole paint job, and platinum interior package.
Each truck is different, as Andy puts a lot of thought and meticulous planning into his trucks and what he wants them to look like. From the paint job to the fender covers, Andy knows what he wants in order to make his trucks look perfect on the road.
Andy has had many iconic trucks built with Hunter Truck over the years and has partnered with our Body Shop team in Butler to have the paint and bodywork completed on each of his trucks; he enjoys being a part of the process start to finish. Another memorable truck that Andy was proud to showcase was a teal green 2006 Peterbilt Model 379 sleeper with a CAT C15 engine with 625 horsepower and Eaton Fuller 18-speed transmission.
We are proud to work with Andy Kushner Trucking LLC. and thank Andy for his long-time business and loyalty to us at Hunter Truck. We appreciate your business, and we are proud to support your mission!
